The soothsayer interrupts and says one thing is more necessary than speeches: dinner. He is hungry and thirsty, and weary people deserve wine, not only water. Zarathustra's animals panic when they realize one soothsayer may eat everything they gathered.
The silent king on the left speaks up and says he and his brother brought plenty of wine, though bread is short. Zarathustra laughs and offers lambs, roots, fruits, and nuts. Everyone who wants to eat must help cook, kings included. The voluntary beggar jokes about rich food in a cave, and Zarathustra lets him keep his simple ways.
Zarathustra says he makes rules only for his own kind: strong, light-footed, ready for hard work and hard joy. The king on the right marvels that a wise man can also be sensible. The ass says ye-a to that. Thus begins the long supper where the talk turns to the higher man. Work, wine, and roast lamb turn philosophy into a real feast at last. The ass brays approval, and the room finally turns from hunger to talk. Even the beggar is allowed his plain grain and water if that is what makes him glad. This is how the famous supper begins.
The leaders who earn deepest loyalty are those who hold themselves to the same standard they hold everyone else. Zarathustra tells his assembled guests, two kings among them, that whoever wishes to eat must also lend a hand to the work.
Notice one situation where you hold others to a requirement you exempt yourself from, and close that gap before asking anything more of anyone.
During the supper Zarathustra speaks to his guests about leaving the marketplace, surpassing man, and learning to dance. He tells the higher men that God is dead and soft pity must not rule them anymore.
